I had a very nice weekend working on the quilting of Three Flocks. This is the largest quilt that I have quilted on my home machine to date at 65" wide by 88" long, and so far it has been going just fine. It took me an hour to pin baste the layers in preparation for quilting. I love...
I don't know why it took me so long to finish the backing for my Three Flocks quilt top. I suppose other projects just came up and I kept working on them instead of this backing. Regardless, once I really sat down to work on it, it came together pretty quickly.
First I had to finish piecing all the HSTs...
On Thursday I was able to sneak in an hour of work on the backing for my Three Flocks quilt top. I am taking the HSTs remaining from the flying geese block construction and putting them together as a stripe to make the center piece for the backing. I have completed sewing together 5 rows (out of 14) of these 4.5″ blocks (they will finish at 4″ square).
