About the Planview Quilt

The Planview quilt along will offer 6 quilt sizes:

  • Wall (30″ x 36″)
  • Baby (40″ x 48″)
  • Lap (60″ x 72″)
  • Twin (80″ x 96″)
  • Queen (90″ x 108″)
  • King (100″ x 120″)

As an engineer, I created plans to communicate how to manufacture parts that I developed. Plans are two-dimensional diagrams used to describe an object and communicate building and/or fabrication instructions. A plan view is a projection looking down on the object, like in a floor plan for a house. This design started by overlapping various sizes of rotated plus shapes and the end result strongly reminded me of the plan view of the John C. Hodges library (the library of my college alma mater), resulting in the name of the design.

The Planview quilt pattern uses 5 fabrics plus a background fabric, and the fabric requirements will have a coloring page and lots of colorway options for you to consider. Sewtopia is offering two lap size Kona Cotton kits: a cool progression and lava colorway. I have also identified a few online shops that carry the exact Northcott Fabrics prints I used in my lap size sample which I will share when the fabric requirements are released.

Q: What is the complexity level?
A: The pattern is written at a confident beginner level, and the pattern is appropriate for that skill level and above. There will be no bias edges.

Agreement Not to Copy – This pattern is provided for the buyer’s individual use only. By purchasing this pattern, the buyer agrees not to copy, reproduce or distribute copies or reproductions of this pattern to any person or persons, or to allow others to do so, without first obtaining written permission from Yvonne Fuchs.
