Mastering Precision Curves: Sesen Coloring Page and Templates
In the Mastering Precision Curves: Sesen workshop, we will be working toward making a lap or queen size version of the Sesen quilt. The quilt requires 4 fabrics (Background, Fabric A, Fabric B, and Fabric C), and although I tend to work with solid fabrics, a large scale print would be a very fun option Fabric C! In the sample lap size quilt shown above, I used Kona Blueprint for the Background, Kona Maize for Fabric A, Kona Periwinkle for Fabric B, and Kona Canary for Fabric C.
The coloring page and template PDF download (link below) also contains a fabric swatch and pattern color key. I highly recommend printing out the swatch and placing swatches of your selected fabrics on it to use as reference in the workshop.
When working with curves in the workshop, you may use the templates that you can download above or standard 6″ finished / 6½” unfinished Drunkard’s Path acrylic templates. You may use the printed templates from the workshop provided pattern and a fabric marking device of your choice, but if you are not using acrylic templates, I highly recommend transferring the templates onto template material for the workshop. Be sure to also add the reference seam lines to your template.
Note: If you have your own set of Drunkard’s Path acrylic templates, I recommend printing out the templates from the link above and verifying that your templates match the concave and convex shapes.
In the sample lap size quilt top shown above, I used Kona natural for the Background, Kona Papaya for Fabric A, Kona Kumquat for Fabric B, and Kona Coral for Fabric C.
