I was surprised and delighted to be randomly selected to win an Island Batik fat quarter bundle for my participation in the 2026 SAHRR!

SAHRR – Island Batik FQ Bundle
The bundle has arrived and is a generous collection of 20 prints.

SAHRR – Island Batik FQ Bundle – Paradise Palms
I’m torn: I could cut these up and make more mini square in square charity blocks for the block drive for Many Hands and Many Hearts this quarter, or I could save them for some future project. What do you think? I’m leaning toward more donation blocks…

I wondered if you’d consider them for donation blocks – I look forward to seeing what you decide!
Future project. Use your scraps for donation
Very fun fabrics. Whatever you decide they will make something very fun and bright.
Those fabrics took my breath away. My suggestion You could donate to me: Giggling. I will seek these out for a jacket I will be making as a Summer cover up. Whatever you do I am sure it will be spectacular-after all fabric makes the quilt
I think it depends if the collection makes your heart sing or you are a little less than inspired by it. Sometimes when I decide I am less inspired, then I make some blocks, I find I love the results and then wonder why I didn’t. I love seeing it all arranged so beautifully – really shows all the colors. Whatever you decide, it will be fun to see!
Use of your precious time could be the deciding factor. Use those that fit the color combinations required for charity blocks and save the rest for surprise accents in future creations.
Fun to win a bundle you didn’t expect. One one hand, you don’t use batiks a lot, so maybe more donation blocks would be a good – and timely – use. On the other hand, an unexpected challenge or project might pop up later, and then you’d be ready.
Gorgeous fabric collection. I love it, and believe any quilt design you make with these fabrics will be stunning.
Congratulations, Yvonne! I’m sure whatever you decide to use them for will be gorgeous! I look forward to seeing what you make with them.
Yes, they are just gorgeous, and I know in your hands, they be used well. Congratulations!
