Just a quick update for today. Yesterday, I cut (11) 2¼” x WOF strips and turned them into a double folded binding strip so that I’ll be ready to bind the Highland quilt when it gets back from being long arm quilted.

Highland Quilt – Binding
Looking at the binding roll from the top down, an (11) strip binding roll is a large one!

Highland Quilt – Binding
I just checked the tracking, and the Highland quilt was delivered on Wednesday afternoon! It will take a few weeks before it’s heading back my way, but I’ll be ready when it arrives. :)

It’s so nice to have binding waiting when you receive your quilt back from the longarmer! Do you hand sew your binding to the back or machine stitch? Inquiring minds want to know. I love hand sewn binding but it’s so time consuming I don’t do it unless I am planning on entering a quilt into a show. I’ve done some research on whether judges like hand sewn or will accept nicely done machine stitched binding and have found mixed reviews! I’d love your opinion. Have a great day Yvonne!
You are so prepared! Impressive!
Good for you! So fun that you’ve gotten this far on this project!
The binding looks great and such good news that the quilt arrived at the long armers. I always keep a close eye on those precious packages. I saw your newsletter and your center block plan looks great.
Very fun binding, it’s a cool print. Now the hard part, waiting for the quilt to come back!
I love that you gave binding its own post: it is a sort of milestone, for sure! Beautiful roll of fabric, there — glad it’s waiting to be used!
