After making the Black and White Framed charity blocks, I was out of all black and white prints in my stash. When Sewtopia held a sale just after Christmas to celebrate Amy’s birthday, I decided I should look for some black and white prints to replace what I used up.

I ordered mostly 1 yard cuts, with a few ½ yard cuts. If you are shopping to add to your stash, and not for a particular project, what yardage do you typically choose to purchase?

I usually buy one yards cuts as well…..except if it’s one that I immediately fall crazy in love with and then I get two yards. One yard to use and a spare, lol. I like your assortment of B/W’s.
My current project has me going through most of my stash and using up as much as I can. Usually I will select two yards of a fabric I fancy. If I think it could also be useful in my garment fabric stash, then I will order three or four.
Likewise, I tend to shop skinny bolts when shopping in person and will take the remainder rather then leaving a remnant.
You have some pretty fabrics to play with! I usually go between half yard and full yard cuts now. I have too many FQs, but will admit to adding a bundle now and then.
Love the refresh. It definitely needs to be done occasionally. I need to reorganize my stash one of these days, and I bet it’ll result in a refresh order as well.
All of your new fabrics choices are nice and I look forward to seeing how you use them. I’ve had one foot on the “scrappy bandwagon” for a little while now and need to replenish what I tend to use as my neutrals. I’ve also recently worked with blacks and whites on three different projects and find that I am in dire need of replenishing those too. Like you, my most recent purchases have been 1/2 up to 1 yard cuts. That amount fits nicely into my “scrappy path” and more than that ends up leaving me with even more scraps – just smaller pieces. LOL
Happy New Year!!
You bought some fun fabrics to play with. I’m on a fabric diet these days. I try hard to pull from my stash and only buy what I need for a given project.
Gorgeous fabrics! I really love watching your fabric pictures, they’re so beautiful to look at. Usually when I go yardage hunting, I usually get 1-2 yards.
Always fun to see what you are adding to your stash. I was curious — do you prefer the naturals over the more starker white fabrics? And I have to say that I probably would have chosen some of these to play with, too!
Thats a great refresh!!!
and I am quite impressed that you use a color scheme up enough to refresh ;-)
You loaded your stash up nicely! I love seeing your choices.
