Wednesday was a very busy day for me at work. Sometime just before lunch, I saw that I had a few emails from the MQG, and I knew that the notifications for QuiltCon 2026 quilt submissions must have gone out. I was very surprised (and utterly delighted) to see that all 3 quilts that I submitted this year were accepted to hang at the show. I have kept track of the number of quilts I have submitted and the number of quilts that have been accepted into the show over the years:
- 2015 QuiltCon – 2 submitted, 0 accepted
- 2016 QuiltCon – 2 submitted, 2 accepted <– My first quilts accepted into a juried show!
- 2017 QuiltCon – 5 submitted, 4 accepted <– Two were special exhibit quilts that followed a different acceptance process
- 2018 QuiltCon – 7 submitted, 3 accepted
- 2019 QuiltCon – 4 submitted, 4 accepted
- 2020 QuiltCon – 3 submitted, 3 accepted
- 2021 QuiltCon Together – 5 submitted, 5 accepted <– This was a virtual show
- 2022 QuiltCon – 3 submitted, 1 accepted
- 2023 QuiltCon – 2 submitted, 1 accepted
- 2024 QuiltCon – 1 submitted, 1 accepted <– Cloudy Night Sky won Best Machine Quilting
- 2025 QuiltCon – 2 submitted, 0 accepted
- 2026 QuiltCon – 3 submitted, 3 accepted

2026 QuiltCon Quilts
I am so glad that I didn’t have any quilts accepted into QuiltCon 2025. It was a treat to get to go to the show in Phoenix this year and spend time walking the show with friends and family. I left feeling excited to finally try to bring an idea to life that has been simmering at the back of my mind since at least 2016. I have not shared about 2 of the 3 quilts that were accepted to the show, which use that new idea/technique, and I cannot wait to get to share them for the first time with everyone next year in February!

QuiltCon Quilt Shipping
I don’t love worrying about my quilts while they are being shipped, so I always try to get them sent as early as possible to avoid as much of peak holiday shipping as possible. Quilts that are being judged are asked to be received by January 9th, so I finalized the hanging sleeves, labels, and label covers and was able to get my quilts shipped on Friday morning. I’ll be watching the tracking eagerly, and they should arrive next Wednesday.
Whether you submitted quilts to QuiltCon this year or not, and whether you had quilts accepted to QuiltCon this year or not, I want you to know that I believe the world is a better place because you are putting your creative energy into it. It might not feel like important work given the state of the world right now, but the most important part is that we keep going. I believe in us. We can and do make the world a better place, one stitch at a time.

Congratulations!! Shipping quilts is an anxiety filled event and you are smart to get them out straight away, if for no other reason to limit the duration of dreading it. I believe wholeheartedly in your sentiments about the world being a better place because we put our creative energy into it. Thanks for articulating it so well.
Wow, congratulations!! Not surprising that they want all three, your work is amazing. Good luck!
Congrats on your show accepts – I can’t wait to see them in Raleigh! And good for you to get the hanging sleeve and label attached and off in the mail!
Congratulations, Yvonne. I look forward to seeing your submissions in future posts!
So pleased for your acceptances this year. And good for you to get them mailed off already! I hope to do that this next week.
I love those “in front of quilt drop-off” places photos, and hooray for your for sending them out. I’m excited to see these, come February, and I hope you are already writing the posts. And….I want to know what all those bits on the back are: a new type of label? A disguise for your name?
I’m so happy you took us on this journey, from millions of yards of thread to the final drop-off.
Congratulations, again!
Congratulations Yvonne! I am grateful for your positive vibes that continue to energize me. Hope you have a great time in Raleigh.
Well done.
Congrats on the having 3 quilts accepted to Quilt Con. I so get the concerns of shipping. Hopefully they have all arrived safely.
