I have a quilt finish that I can share with you! Every time I make a mini mini quilt, I get reminded again how much joy and delight there is in bringing something from idea to completion in a single afternoon. This quilt was a joy to make.

Push Pull Mini Mini Quilt – Fabric Pull
So, let’s start at the beginning. Through my Quilting Jetgirl Patreon account (which I officially unpublished Tuesday evening*), I offered my Patrons various rewards. One of the rewards is for a custom designed mini mini quilt after 10 months of support. For this mini mini quilt, the recipient told me that they love blue/purple, my transparency quilts, traveling to Iceland and specifically the glaciers and glacial lagoons. They also mentioned really enjoying their own version of my Push-Pull pattern. After some quick doodling, I came up with a 6″ wide by 5″ tall design based on Push-Pull and when I went to my fabric stash, the glacial blues spoke to me the loudest. From darkest to lightest I used Kona Cotton in Mediterranean, Lagoon, and Waterfall.

Push Pull Mini Mini Quilt – Backing
For the back of the mini mini, I used some of the delightful blue and purple stripe fabric that I just added to my stash – it seemed the perfect choice given the recipient’s favorite colors!

For the piecing, quilting, and top stitching the binding, I used 50wt Aurifil in 1125 (Medium Teal) and it blended in beautifully with the Kona Cotton Mediterranean.

All told, this mini mini quilt took me just about 2.5 hours to make from start to finish, and I’m delighted that it has been received safely by the recipient!

*Many thanks to everyone who supported me over the years through Patreon. It was a delightful community, and I enjoyed hosting a yearly quilt along as the annual reward for membership. Due to my new job, it is no longer sustainable for me to continue to develop and run an annual quilt along. Therefore, after the completion of a very successful and fun quilt along this year (Effervescence quilt along), I have made the choice to unpublish my Quilting Jetgirl Patreon page. After communicating with my Patrons, I opted to unpublish slightly before the end of the month to avoid any additional fees to everyone who supported me there.
Related, I will also be de-activating my Facebook account (and therefore my Quilting Jetgirl Facebook group) soon.
I will absolutely still be quilting. I will continue to share about my quilting journey here on my website and for the time being I plan to also occasionally pop onto Instagram (@quiltingjetgirl). I’ve been recharging my creative battery and exploring new ideas that I can’t wait to share with you when they have matured!

What a satisfying little project! Also I’m glad you’re making some changes to your business that work well for you.
What a lovely mini quilt, and that backing fabric is scrumptious!
Very cute mini-mini! Totally understandable that you’d want to scale back your other obligations with your new full time job. I’m glad you’ll still post on your website/blog occasionally. Have fun!
What a cute and quick mini. I love taking scraps and making them into mini’s just because I can’t stand to get rid of larger scraps. LOL. Good luck with your new schedule, I can’t wait to see where you spark of creativity is taking you.
You are right, mini quilts are satifying to make for the reasons you stated. Glad to hear that a new job is the reason for pulling back a bit and not because of burnout. Balance in life is important!
Keep my email and keep in touch! Will miss you my friend.
What a beautiful way to honor your patreon’s interests! I bet this was a bittersweet project for you as you transition to a new phase in your quilting life. I’m glad to know that you will still be sharing your quilts.
You definitely all the design points for the recipient, very pretty mini. I’m sorry that you have to close your Patreon and Facebook sites. It’s hard to balance creative time with a full time job. Have you also stopped your pattern editing business as well? Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in your sewing room as you have time.
