I am behind in sharing about some fabric purchases I made throughout the second quarter of this year. I’ll dedicate this post to all the fabric that I have purchased without a specific project in mind.

Kona White and Snow Bolts Stash Additions
When the current US administration started talking about tariffs, I took a hard look at my stash and thought about what fabric I needed. In particular, I keep large yardage quantities for quilt backgrounds and backings, and I had used up all of my white and off-white yardage out of my stash. So I purchased 2 bolts of Kona Cotton in White and Snow from Hawthorne Supply Co.

Kona White and Snow Bolts
The spot checking pricing for a bolt of Kona Cotton from Hawthorne Supply Co. has not increased since my purchase, but they no longer have any bolts of white and the lightest off-white they offer as of Sunday evening (7/13/25) is Kona Champagne. They will likely need to adjust pricing when new shipments and stock arrive.

Ruby Star Society Stash Additions
I am working with a new idea, and I have found that it works best when I use the same fabric manufacturer. I went down a big Ruby Star Society print rabbit hole selecting just the right prints for my next project, and somehow all of these prints also found their way into my shopping cart to be added to my stash. I ordered all of these from Sewtopia, and they are (from left to right):
- Ruby Star Society Sarah Watts Backyard Tiny Butterflies Dusk <– Only a remnant left!
- Ruby Star Society Jen Hewett Endpaper Bluebell
- Ruby Star Society Jen Hewett Verbena Navy
- Ruby Star Rising Collaborative Eye Candy Diamond Candies Clementine
- Ruby Star Society Rashida Coleman-Hale To and Fro Floret Rust <– Only a remnant left!
- Ruby Star Society Rashida Coleman-Hale Pixel Earth
- Ruby Star Society Alexia Marcelle Abegg Meadow Star Honey Pie Caramel
- Ruby Star Society Rashida Coleman-Hale Pivot Burners Playful
- Ruby Star Society Rashida Coleman-Hale Pivot Burners Dark Turquoise <– Only a remnant left!
- Ruby Star Rising Kimberly Kight Hole Punch Dot Turquoise
- Ruby Star Society Jen Hewett Endpaper Sarah Green <– Sold out from Sewtopia
- Ruby Star Rising Basic – Rashida Coleman-Hale Speckled Metallic Black
Most of these are 1-yard cuts, but two of them are ½ yard.

Purple and Blue Stash Additions
Because online shopping is hard, I have had to make several purchases to fine tune fabric selections. These purple and blue prints above have jumped into a few of my recent shopping carts recently (left to right):
- Pansy Perfection STRIPE-CD3758 PURPLE by Chong-A Hwang for Timeless Treasures Fabrics
- Cosmos COSM-5130-VV Dark Violet by P&B Textiles
- Cosmos COSM-5130-DB Dark Blue by P&B Textiles
- Windham Heather Givans Pen Pals Ghost Writer Ballpoint
- Moda Gingiber Woodland Wonder Animals Sky
These are all 1 yard cuts. I think the purple and blue strip is going to be a fabulous binding for a quilt or two in the future!

What a lovely rainbow of prints! Smart to get your order in early before the tariffs kicked in.
Great taste in fabric – love all those prints!
What fun fabrics! Glad you were able to get a reasonable deal on the bolts – something I have yet to do! (purchase a bolt, I mean….)
Nicely done! Mad About Patchwork has a Friday the 13 sale on Kona and I meant to buy some Snow and completely forgot about it. I really like (I know you’ll be shocked) the blues additions, and I love a striped binding! Lots of oranges in the Ruby Star collection—I’m intrigued! Funny I just wrote in my post yesterday that I’m not one to ensure I use all one fabric line or company but my latest quilt does. Good that you’ve shown how this tariff bs costs American citizens more, not the country (in RSS’s case Japan).
Very wise to do a bit of basic stock up before the tariffs take affect. I had to move my stash out of Grad Girl’s closet and did a good inventory of my basic white, off white, black and gray backgrounds. I’m set for a few years at this point!
I enjoyed seeing all the fabrics in this post. So often our eyes glaze over with the blast of color and pattern that comes our way in IG posts and on websites. But seeing them here, chosen for your project, was just lovely. I, too, have bolts of white and off-white (I use Painter’s Palette instead of Kona). But the message is the same: it’s always good to have a back-up in these times!
Lovely prints. I’m particularly drawn to the Gingiber owl print. I look forward to seeing these fabrics show up in some of your future projects.
Yeah, only shopping can have some surprises. But I am happy when I hit above the 90-95% mark ;) All lovely fabrics in your “cart”. I hope you will enjoy them and their new projects. xo
