One of the things that I love to do is deep dive and learn as much as I can, and as a result, I have a few tutorials and downloadable references for you today that you can use to refine your piecing precision as you piece any future quilt.
Updated Four-at-a-Time Flying Geese Tutorial
The No-Waste Flying Geese method always left me with slightly wonky shaped flying geese. I spent time a few years ago testing out different sizing options, and while the method is the same as the No-Waste method, my version is a bit like making half-square triangles; with just a slight trim at the end, I can now get my four-at-a-time flying geese to be the exact size that I want!
Stitch and Flip Pressing Tip
Stitch and Flip is another method that used to leave me with wonky pieces. This particular tip might not apply to everyone (spoiler alert: I do not pre-wash my fabric and I think that is the root cause).

Bonus HSTs from Stitch and Flip
One of the great things about the stitch-and-flip method is the ability to also get a bonus HST. I have another free printable table for you to reference so you always know what size your bonus HSTs can become!
Tips for Working with Directional Prints
If at all possible, I like to keep directional prints oriented in the same direction in my quilt top.
Trimming Quarter Circles
If you decide to make one of the Postage Stamp setting options for the Diatom quilt, I have a quick and handy video tutorial that shows how to trim quarter circles (also known as Drunkard’s Path blocks).
Quilting Jetgirl Tutorials
These are just a small sampling of over 100 free tutorials that I offer on my website (be patient waiting for the page to load – that’s a lot of tutorials!!).

This is a post to bookmark — to keep all your great tutorials handy. Thanks for gathering these all together.
These are great tutorials Yvonne; I’ve linked to the Four-at-a-time flying geese in one of my patterns as you may recall!
I learned a lot when I made Diatom, your tutorials have some good tips.
What helpful and well-written tutorials. I will need to try pressing with steam, as I often use the stitch and flip method. Thank you for all of the tips and tutorials that you provide to us all.
When it comes to precision and workmanship, you are the BEST, Yvonne!
