Effervescence Quilt Along – Blocks 15-18

You may notice in the instructions for Block 16 that the bonus HST is instructed to be trimmed down to 2½” instead of 3″. By trimming the HST to 2½” square, it works with the bonus quilt pattern that I’ll share with you on July 7th. If you are unsure if you will want to make the bonus quilt and want to keep your bonus HST as large as possible, I recommend trimming the Block 16 HST to 3″ square – you can always choose to trim it down to 2½” square later if you opt to make the bonus quilt.

Block 16 Expanded into a 48″ x 48″ Quilt

Shown above is what a quilt could look like if (12) Block 16 and 12) mirror image Block 16 were pieced and arranged in an alternating fashion.

Block 18 Quilt

Block 18 Expanded into a 48″ x 48″ Quilt

Block 18 is a symmetric quilt block, so (24) pieced blocks rotated and alternated work to make a nice quilt.
