Effervescence Quilt Along {Piecing #4}

I’m glad that many of you enjoyed the quilt mock-up from Block 10. It’s time to dig into Blocks 12-14 and put together Row 2. Don’t tell the other blocks, but I really love Block 13. The pieces used for Blocks 12-14 are a bit smaller, so there is only one bonus HST that is 2½” square or larger.

I really like when the color flows between several blocks in a row.

Piecing (12) Block 13 and rotating the blocks in columns 2 and 4 180-degrees does make for a nice design, but Block 14 can make a lovely quilt top, too! Gah, don’t those colors make you think of summer time?!?

Just like with the Block 10 mock-up I shared previously, this mock-up relies on making mirror image blocks AND by working with a changing color story with the 3 fabrics in the block, a really interesting secondary design appears.
