2024 Q3 Check In

Today marks the end of the third quarter of 2024, and today I’m sharing how my last three months of the year shaped up. You are welcome to join me in the #2024QuiltingQ3CheckIn (the link up is open through October 15th)!

In terms of my 2024 business goals, I released 1 quilt pattern in the third quarter, Bonus Bouquet, I hosted another Curated Pattern Bundle, and I plan to host one more very, very soon.

Birthday Sunset

Birthday Sunset

I have had lots of opportunity this year to practice one of my life goals: Give myself grace and lean into patience.

In early September, my husband and I were able to get away to camp for a few nights to celebrate my birthday. There has been a lot going on behind the scenes this year. So much that since late July, I haven’t had much time to sew, let alone keep up with writing or reading blog posts. None of what is going on is especially terrible or difficult, but we are going through a lot of really big topics all at the same time (multiple health related topics for both my husband and me requiring lots of time and travel, family trips and weddings requiring travel, big life decisions requiring lots of travel to make a good choice, etc., etc. etc.).

One looming big decision was made in the past week, and although there is still a lot of work ahead to finalize that decision, knowing the direction things will be going is a huge relief. There are pros and cons to all big decisions, and for the time being, I will continue to have less time than I would ideally like to sew and connect online.

So, in the interest of maintaining my sanity through the end of the year, my only goal for the rest of the year is to take life one step at a time, one stitch at a time (hopefully!), and one day at a time.

Linking up with #2024QuiltingQ3CheckIn.

Wishing you a belated, but very, happy birthday! Those are beautiful photos ❤️ I hope everything works out/calms down in the next few months, most of all your health situations. Take good care of each other, and we will be here when you are ready.

  2. Oh my, life has been keeping you and Mike on your toes. I wish you well in the next few months of change, and hope that you can put needle to cloth every once in a while.

  3. Sometimes life just takes twists and turns that we don’t expect, and I’m glad you are taking time to do what you need to get through the big changes coming for you. Thank you for the updates. I think of you often when I quilt, especially when using techniques you’ve shared, or see one of your quilts I’ve made. Cheering you on from here. Sneak in some sewing therapy when you can!

One step at a time is sometimes the very best we can do, and that is A-OK! Glad one big decision has been made and hoping all things continue to evolve in ways that are best for you and your husband.

Hi Yvonne, good for you for realising this. Your health and sanity is important. Take care and keep being kind to yourself. I’m also working on that….not easy but essential :-)

Your mental and physical health come first, all else has to come second. Hope you had a wonderful birthday, and remember those of us who have been with you, will always be here and not judging just waiting and sending lots of love and support your way.

  7. Love that photo of you and your husband and glad you have each other to help navigate life’s challenges.

Health issues for yourself and family members are tough things to navigate. Hope you find some moments of joy and some stitching time as you navigate all these life changes. Good luck!

  9. Love the photo of you and your husband. Kindness emanates from you both. Wishing you much grace and peace the rest of 2024.

This resonates so deeply with me! I am also in the process of big change and am working on health things. It is really helpful to be kind with oneself. Glad you are making that a priority!

And I am curious to know what your next phase will be. I am so accustomed to brave, awesome and somewhat “strange” things from you too, that I am so curious. No pressure intended. Just wanting to voice that the view from the outside is always so brave and exciting. I am sure that internally there is always a lot more going on. Hoping I am making at least some sense. All the best to you two – your decisions and most importantly your health. xo

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
