Last week I slowly was able to cut and sew together a few blocks. I figured that making a few blocks to send to Cynthia for her next charity block drive was just the thing to start on, and it felt so good to be doing something both for myself and that will eventually benefit someone else. Cynthia announced the blocks she is gathering for this quarter in late August: Jewel Box Block Drive.

Jewel Box Blocks
I usually like to send along quite a few blocks to Cynthia, so I hope a few of you will be inspired to chip in and help out, too. I’m sure Cynthia will put these 3 blocks to great use, though.

The black and white prints are all modern batiks, and I just love the way their seams lay so flat. If you are interested in making blocks, Cynthia is requesting bright blues, greens and purples to contrast with the black and white prints, and she has all the details in her Jewel Box Block Drive blog post.

So happy to hear you are sewing! I love those b&w prints – so cool!
Very nice blocks and a perfect way to ease back in. Best wishes for a smooth reentry and a little less of life’s curve balls coming your way.
So glad you were able to sew for a bit!
They look great!!! Glad you got to stitch a little!! thinking of you
They are fun blocks to make. I still need to mail mine!
