Star Pulse Bonus Quilt {Finished Quilt}

After basting both Star Pulse quilts, I decided to start with the smaller bonus quilt to get a quick finish.

In the theme of keeping it simple, I opted to quilt the bonus quilt following the piecing lines, aka, stitch in the ditch. I used 50wt Aurifil 2120 (Canary) for the quilting, not that you can see it from the front of the quilt!

The better place to see and appreciate the quilting is on the back of the quilt. And golly, do I love that I angled the quilt top on the backing during basting. Having the lines of the pieced backing run at a slight angle brings me joy!

I bound the quilt using Phosphor Electric in Jackpot. While this quilting is a lot less dense than I normally quilt, it sure does leave the quilt soft and drapey. The lap size Star Pulse bonus quilt finished at 32″ x 32″.

  1. Very nice! It is also nice not to have to mark a quilting plan too!

    I think quick projects are a must! Setting the backing at an angle adds nice character to the back, great idea!

    What a sweet little finish. I think a simple quilting plan was perfect for this one, and why not? I also love how you angled the backing.

  4. Love it!! and the idea of starting with the simple!!

  5. I had the same reaction to a older quilt of mine that I used recently: Less-dense quilting does make for a soft and drapey final product. (I am so quick to hand projects off to a longarmer these days, which always results in denser quilting.) What will you do with this little (bonus) beauty?

  6. I adore this fun, bright project. The colors are just fabulous and the little twist on the back is even more fun. This is a bright, wonderful bonus quilt.

    Soooo good. And that backing….good call on the angling. Thanks for linking up with Thank Goodness It’s Finished Friday.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
