Garden Peony - Pieced Quilt Top

Garden Peony {Pieced Quilt Top}

I sewed up a storm yesterday afternoon and not only I was able to get the curves for my next baby size Garden Peony quilt sewn together, but I also finished piecing the quilt top. I was moving so quickly that the only photograph I took was of the pieced quilt top. Ha!

I really love the spring time feeling of the Ruby Star Society prints set against Kona Enchanted. As a quick refresher, the fabrics I’m using for this baby size version of Garden Peony are:

Garden Peony - Directional Fabric B Print

Garden Peony – Directional Fabric B Print

The Fabric B I am using (Ruby Star Society Melody Miller Rise and Shine! Meadow Balmy) is a directional print, so I took care when I cut the convex curves from my fabric strips and I was able to keep the print oriented “up” in all locations of the quilt top. I’ll be back tomorrow with a quick tutorial on how I was able to accomplish that.

    Love the sweet flowers in that pink print!

  2. I enjoyed watching you buzzing from sewing machine to design wall on IG. I’m amazed at how much we actually do move some days in the quilt room. Your quilt is lovely!

    You must sew really quickly! Very pretty, the spring color palette looks so fresh.

    Your quilt looks so interesting in these prints — I went back and looked at the one of yours I did in Really Wild Prints, and I think I like this one better. It still shows the pattern’s sculptural qualities, but jazzes it up a little. Looking good!

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
