Behind the scenes I was able to sneak in writing and testing a new quilt pattern between finishing Congruence and making the Sunrise Sherbet quilt. Today, I am really happy that I can share that quilt and pattern, Dripping Stars, with you. And while the individual Dipping Stars digital quilt pattern is available for sale today in my pattern shop, it is also part of the Holiday Pattern bundle, which features a total of 20 patterns.
Dripping Stars
As you may know, I lean pretty far on the minimalist side of things both in my quilt designs and in most other aspects of my life. I don’t have a lot of seasonal tchotchkes, and when I think about having items to help celebrate a season, I really want them to be useful for other times of the year and purposes as well. With that in mind, I designed the Dripping Stars quilt as a nod toward how important stars are in many holiday traditions.
Dripping Stars is a fast, fun, modern sawtooth star quilt that would work as a year round quilt in your home or on your bed, or you could make the quilt in your favorite holiday colors for the perfect holiday sparkle. The pattern offers two colorways (two color and ombré stars) in 4 sizes (baby 36″ x 48″, throw 54″ x 72″, twin 72″ x 96″, and queen 90″ x 120″).
The Dripping Stars pattern in the baby size is rendered above (L-R) in Twas (two color), Cozy Christmas (ombré stars), and Silent Night (two color) fabrics from Riley Blake.
I made the ombré stars baby size cover quilt using Kona Cotton in Peacock (Background and backing), Quicksilver (Fabric A/large stars), Shark (Fabric B/medium stars), and Chalkboard (Fabric C/small stars and binding). I quilted my version using 50wt Aurifil 1320 (Bright Teal) with vertical lines using a walking foot on my domestic Juki TL-2200 QVP Mini. The vertical lies are spaced 1″ apart, and I used a Hera maker (Tips for Using a Hera Marker) prior to basting the quilt to mark the quilting lines.
The Dripping Stars digital quilt pattern is on sale for $10 today through Monday, July 24th, in my pattern shop. But for the amazing price of $19, you can get Dripping Stars as one of 20(!!) patterns in the Holiday Pattern Bundle. The Holiday Pattern Bundle is ONLY available today through July 24th.
Holiday Pattern Bundle
As I mentioned above, Dripping Stars is also a part of the Holiday Pattern Bundle. This bundle features 20 patterns and was curated to help you prepare for the upcoming holiday season (it’s less than 6 months away)! There are pillows, table runners, tree skirts, stockings, and quilts in all sizes in the bundle. Several of the patterns in the bundle are brand new, just like Dripping Stars, and some patterns will not be available outside of the bundle.
The Holiday Pattern Bundle is only available for a few days; the bundle contains 20 patterns for only $19 (that’s less than $1 per pattern!). I don’t want you to miss out on this amazing and limited time offer. Don’t wait – the Holiday Pattern Bundle is only available through Monday, July 24th.
Stars are one of my favourite blocks, they look great in your minimalist setting.
Stars never grow old. I appreciate that you give a variety of sizes in your patterns, Yvonne! The unique way the stars cascade is very cool!
Congrats on the pattern release!
Sweet new quilt design. It was fun to see the design in its expanded form(s) in the different quilt sizes!
Another beautiful pattern! I love the cover quilt with the blue and the other colorways are gorgeous too!
That’s a lovely pattern and so versatile with all the sizes. I do love the vertical quilting, too. It really evokes the dripping stars.
