Block 10 – Star Setting Twin, 4 Fabric Version
If you are working with a fat quarter bundle or making each block scrappy, consider using 2 prints for Fabric A; Group A1 for the outer edge of the block and Group A2 for the inner star.
The Memory Quilt Block uses flying geese, half-square triangles, and general piecing techniques.
Note for those making either version of Block 10 Star Setting: When cutting your fabric for the throw or twin star setting borders, pay attention to the star point and background fabrics. They are listed in Fabric letter order (Fabric A / Fabric D) which means they are listed with the star point fabric first and background fabric second, which is the reverse order from most other block instructions.

Block 10 – Postage Stamp Setting Throw, FQ Version
I modified the directions of the Memory Quilt Block to make stitch and flip flying geese instead of the four-at-a-time method to keep my directional prints oriented the same way. Modifying to the HST method outlined above would also work well for this block if you are working with directional prints.
I’d love to know, have you followed all of the block directions as written or modified them in any way as you have gone (whether to cut using an AccuQuilt die or to use directional prints or for any other reason)? Be sure to share photos of your block(s) in the Quilting Jetgirl Facebook group or on social media using the hashtag #DiatomQuiltAlong.

I’m looking forward to getting to this point. I’ve pretty much followed your instructions for each block, but I just started on block #5.
I really love that big blue star block; it’s stunning.
