There’s something super satisfying about seeing a quilt block come together, isn’t there?
Tip: With all the trimming that happens for the subunits of these blocks, I like to keep a lint roller nearby to keep my cutting mat clear of fabric fibers. After trimming each unit, a little swipe with a lint roller will help prolong the life of your cutting mat as you won’t be pressing the fibers into the mat with your next cut.
Note that I was able to fussy cut 2 of the fabrics in my Connemara Flower block and still use the fabric yardages for each fabric. To keep all of these directional prints right side up, it required modifying the pattern instructions to use stitch-and-flip sizing for the flying geese blocks instead of four-at-a-time flying geese sizing.
