You may or may not remember me mentioning in December that my black print fabric stash had really been depleted. I don’t have a particular need or project in mind, but I knew the bin was pretty empty. So in late December when I learned that Amy, the owner of Sewtopia, had a small fire in her house (not at the shop; in her home) over the holidays (everyone is fine but boy, what a scare and pain to have to deal with), I decided that it would be a good time to shop from Sewtopia to add to my depleted black print bin.
Left to right, I ordered 1 yard each of Essex Speckle Black (okay, so it’s probably technically not a print, but it’s so fun!), Languid Spots Black by Carolyn Friedlander (oh my goodness, it’s so shiny!), Speckled Metallic Black by Rashida Coleman-Hale, and Punch Dot Black by Kimberly Kight.
Somehow 2 yards of Night Ride Galaxy in Blueberry by Rae Ritchie also found its way into my shopping cart. I love and have used several of Rae Ritchie’s previous lines, and I’m sure this will find a good use in several future projects.

Night ride is perfect for you, love the other additions too!
Love that night ride fabric – I’m going to have to find some!
Funny how those little extras seem to find their way into our shopping carts! You have a nice stash of black fabrics now!
Fun to add fun goodies to the ole stash once in a while. Sure relieved Amy and her family are ok!
Of course that great Rae Ritchie fabric arrived in your order. This is the ultimate quilting jet girl fabric. PS I collect chemistry fabric so I can make nerd things for my daughter. Love those blacks and they all seem to work together (such a variety in blacks).
Love these fabrics!
A nice range of blacks. The space fabric is really fun. Looking forward to seeing that in a future project.
It’s interesting to see what you’ve added to your stash (such discipline!). I’ve held off online shopping until after Road to California this week, seeing what shows up there in the vendors (are you going?). I’m not one of those who thinks adding to a stash is a bad idea, feeling like sometimes bringing in new fabric can springboard new ideas into being. I have the space print and have made several small makes from it for little boys–it’s a great print!
What a great bunch of fabrics. I often ending up searching for extra darks for something so agree that having a few in your stash is a wise move.
