I “met” Sharon from Color Girl Quilts many years ago through one of the New Quilt Bloggers blog hop series. Sharon is the creator of the Classic Curves ruler. I happened to see on Instagram that she is closing her Color Girl Quilts shop, so I decided it was a good time to support her and pick up a few prints to add to my stash.

Color Girl Quilts Stash Acquisitions
From lower left to upper right, I purchased:
- 1 yard of Breaking News Stripe – Green (Janine Vangool for Windham Fabrics)
- 2 yards of Collection – Ink (Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics)
- 1 yard of Bird and Bee – Daylight (Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics)
- 1 yard of Rainbow Star – Daylight (Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics)

Breaking News Stripe – Green by Janine Vangool for Windham Fabrics
I was really excited to pick up this strip print which I am sure is going to be the perfect binding for a project or two. When I viewed it online, I thought it was a dark green and medium green stripe, but look at the selvage; it’s a medium blue and green. So delightful!

Bird and Bee Print Detail
I also really love the colors in the Bird and Bee print. Each color runs WOF. I could see cutting this print on the length of fabric (parallel to the selvage edges) to make a lovely rainbow binding, but time will tell how it gets used.
Sharon has a lovely eye for color and an excellent selection of fabric still available in her Color Girl Quilts shop, in case you’re looking for some good deals on fabric to start off 2023. Note that she took a holiday shipping break from December 20-30.
The diagonal strip will make a great binding. Great choices!
You picked up some nice cuts. When you come to the last bit of that diagonal stripe, you may wish you had more! That will be fun to use.
Oooh, very pretty acquisitions. The rainbow print and those stars are really fun fabrics. Looking forward to see what you decide to make with them.
Nice choices. It’s fun to have a few new options in the stash. Enjoy!
Love your choices! The stripe and bird and bee delight are really fun!
