Best of 2022

Each year since 2015, Cheryl from Meadow Mist Designs has encouraged us to look back on our year and share some of our best posts. Her Best of 2022 link party is open, and there are no rules on how you define and share your best posts.

Favorite Tutorial – Quilt Basting Tips and Tricks

I shared a LOT of new tips and tutorials this year, and my post with my Quilt Basting Tips and Tricks seems to be the one with the most current views and visits. Other highlights (in order of most views) include:

Diatom - Star Setting Twin

Favorite Pattern Release – Diatom

Diatom was my best pattern release for 2022, as evidenced by how many of you have purchased the Diatom quilt along and will be sewing along with me in 2023. Thank you and I cannot wait to see what you make!

Meringue

Favorite Quilt Finish – Meringue

Meringue is one of those quilts that brought me joy at every step of the creative process. I was thrilled to work with the warm colors in the palette inspired by the baked points of a meringue pie, and the quilting brought the piece together in a way that still excites me!

Favorite Personal Project – Iggy Thread Painting

It’s really hard to pick a favorite finish from a year, so I’m sneaking in a second favorite finish under the category of favorite personal project. I made a thread painting of Iggy, the dominant male gold dust day gecko that lives on the front porch of our former cottage in Hawaii to remember him by, and I love getting to hang out with him in my studio every day.

The Quilt Keeper

Favorite New Gadget – The Quilt Keeper

I was introduced to The Quilt Keeper this year, and I love how easy it is to install and use. I’m still enjoying having my Pulsar quilt hung on the door to my studio.
