Celebrate My Quilt Submission {QuiltCon 2023 Entries}

Monday was the deadline for entering quilts for consideration to QuiltCon 2023. QuiltCon will be held next year in Atlanta, GA, on February 23-26, 2023. Looking back at the quilts that I have made in the past year, I came up with 4 quilts that I considered for submission.

To be honest, while I love Sesen, it is not really quilt show worthy. It’s a good quilt, but it’s not my best work. On top of that, I have a person in mind that I’d love to gift Sesen to, and so I decided to move forward and work on getting it prepped and ready to gift as soon as I am able.

Sequenced Quilt

I did choose to submit Sequenced to the Modern Traditional category (it is based on the Drunkard’s path block).

I also opted to submit Meringue to the Minimalism category.

In the end, I decided not to submit Garden Peony either. So this year, I have 2 quilt submissions for consideration, and everyone who submitted will find out in December what quilts will be included in the show. Until then, congratulations to everyone who worked hard all year and made beautiful quilts.

Did you submit any quilts for consideration to the show?

    Congrats on your submissions – both of those quilts are great choices! I submitted 4, one of them is our group quilt. (Fingers crossed on that one!)

  5. I hope they both get accepted, Yvonne. Whoever is the recipient of Sesen is a lucky person, indeed! I’ve never had the nerve to enter a quilt in Quiltcon, but I enjoy seeing what others are submitting!

  6. Wonderful quilts with your signature style, good luck! I feel certain you’ll get into the show.

  7. Congratulations on your entries and good luck. I love that Sesen has a home and you are prepping it for that. No entries for me this year.

  8. Good luck, and good for you for submitting once again to Quilt Con. I love Meringue, and hope it wins something! Now why do I feel like eating something lemon all of a sudden?!

  9. Suzanne says:

    I’d be VERY surprised if those two lovelies weren’t accepted.
    I’ve made a few quilts that I love, but don’t think I’m good enough yet to submit anything. That doesn’t mean I won’t ever though!

    I love your original designs. I also love how you used leftovers from one quilt to make another. These two were great submissions for the quilt show.

    Good luck! I love combining purples and oranges! And Drunkard’s Path. Hope the judges do too.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
