I’ve made my mind up about how I plan to quilt my lava colorway baby size Planview quilt, and I’m excited to get this one finished up. The baby size version of Planview finishes at 40″ x 48″, which will be a fun size to quilt on my domestic Juki TL-2200 QVP Mini.

Planview Quilting Plan
Before putting a lot of thought into my quilting plan, the first thing I did was go to my thread stash and see if I have coordinating thread colors. To my delight, I pulled a lovely array of 50wt Aurifil threads (from lightest to darkest):
- 2123 (Butter)
- 2120 (Canary)
- 2145 (Yellow Orange)
- 2235 (Orange)
- 2277 (Light Red Orange)
- 2260 (Red Wine)
Once I laid out the spools of thread on the quilt top, I immediately leapt to deciding to quilt a diagonal crosshatch, as you could probably guess by seeing the Hera marker lines drawn into the background of the quilt.

Planview Quilting Plan
Note to self: roll back the rug and mark on the floor next time. Smooshing into carpet is not a great way to make lines using a Hera marker. I knew better, but I was excited and figured it was good enough. I hope the lines stay visible once I get the quilt basted and start quilting!
I love the colors and pattern.
I love the way the threads are in order on the quilt. Are the threads going to run through the red backgroud? It looks really fabulous.
Great quilting design!
Is there a pattern and/or a kit for this beauty? And where can I purchase? Love your designs
