I keep thinking to myself, tomorrow I’ll have more time to sew. But somehow life continues to add surprises and new things for me to focus my attention on. At this point I should know better, but ever the optimist, I do keep thinking, “tomorrow!”

Chain Piecing
After all my prep work last week, I was able to sit down and chain piece 12 curves one afternoon early last week.

And the next day I sewed a few more and even found time to pin and prep the next batch. I did learn this week that while listening to an audiobook with my husband to unwind before bed is the perfect time for the pinning prep work.

And so it went. A little bit done each day.

The little bit on this day was just taking the photo to document the previous day’s progress.

But I was able to get them all sewn (what a hill that it created behind my machine), and all my pins neatly arranged back into their cushions.

Trimming
I even got them all pressed in a single afternoon, which was amazing as I had almost constant distractions that afternoon; life is not kidding around right now you guys. So this week my goal is to slowly and carefully get them all trimmed. I’m not especially in the greatest headspace at the moment, so I know I’m going to have to take my time. And that gets to be okay for right now.
What are you working on this week?
Life does have a way of getting in the way sometimes doesn’t it! I am really enjoying watching your quilting journey!
I just posted part of mine which is part of my Color collective play. Some weeks I can accomplish so much and other weeks not so much but even a little sewing most days is something.
I am sorry life is getting in the way…be patient with yourself as you go through this time. You did a lot, even if it is not your “normal” amount of work.
Life does get in the way. Tomorrow…tomorrow…tomorrow….but eventually tomorrow does come. I hope things settle down for you. The blocks are looking great.
I hope things settle down for you and you continue to find ways to wind down and prepare for sleep – such a great restorative when life is challenging and difficult decisions have to be made.
I LOVE a good chain piecing session! And gosh, life does get in the way of our sewing time, right?! Happy you’re finding ways to keep your quilty projects moving forward!
