Planview QAL – Cutting
Let’s kick off 2022 right! It’s time to prepare and cut all our fabric for the Planview Quilt Along. To keep things organized during the quilt along, I highly encourage you to use the pattern color key. I included a fabric swatch key in the fabric requirements PDF, but there is another one included in the cutting instructions PDF that you are downloading today.

Planview QAL – Pattern Color Key
To use the pattern color key, I started by writing the name of my fabrics below each blank box. Because I ordered my Kona Cotton solids from Sewtopia, each solid came with a handy label. I would remove the label, place it over my handwritten note, press my fabric, cut my fabric, and then cut a 1″ square from the remainder and glue it to the color key. I know this is going to come in handy because we’ll be working on the pattern on and off over the next few months.

If you haven’t picked out your fabric for the quilt along or received it yet, not to worry! There is still lots of time. I have blog post with a lot of colorway inspiration for you to review if you are still selecting your fabric.
I finalized my colours on the weekend, so I’m ready to start cutting!
You picked a beautiful palette of warm colors for this version. Looking forward to seeing all the different versions come together over the next few months.
