Due to the number of mistakes I made in piecing the sample quilt for the Playful Partial Seams workshop, I’m definitely going slower and paying a lot more attention to my instructions as I’m working through piecing Sesen. The great thing about the start of the pattern is that it begins by making curve star blocks, which are easy to batch sew once you get into a rhythm.
That said, I actually find that I enjoy working one block from start to finish more than chain sewing these particular blocks. For whatever reason, I feel like I’m more precise and accurate if I focus on one block and one seam at a time for these.
Once all the curve star blocks are pieced, then the real adventure for this pattern begins. I read my instructions a lot more than twice and triple checked before making my first cuts into the blocks. But once these new seams are sewn, the quilt top should come together pretty quickly.
Did you make good progress on any sewing this week?
