As I mentioned on Friday, the curve star blocks in the Sky Full of Stars quilt create great scraps that can easily be made into 5″ finished drunkard’s path bonus blocks. Each star can create 4 of the bonus blocks, so with 17 stars in the quilt top, that’s a total of 68 bonus blocks. Score!
I spent the weekend pinning, chain sewing, pressing, and trimming, and I was able to get all of the blocks assembled. I paired the prints with Kona Cotton in Bone, which is very similar to the background color of the Gender Symbols Rainbow print that I used as the Love is Love Fabric Collection Sky Full of Stars background print.
Because there are a handful of directional prints, the bonus quilt that I developed to go along with the Sky Full of Stars quilt, Hang On, isn’t going to be the best choice for arranging these blocks. Time to get creative!
