I sewed along with the Bokeh Quilt Along and made a fun, rainbow inspired mini quilt. Today, I’m excited to get to share how it finished!
Originally inspired by Create Navy Colour Me Happy Stripes by Kristy from Quiet Play, I knew that the featured curve star in the center and the binding would use that print. Unable to make up my mind on whether to make the surrounding blocks in a warm or cool colorway, I opted for half of each: two blocks in red/orange/yellow and two blocks in green/blue/purple.
I quilted the mini with a medium to small stipple across the entire mini quilt using 50wt Aurifil in 2021 (white).
I am really pleased with the fun pieced backing, that used up the scrap fabric made from piecing the front curve star. The striped, rainbow binding pulls it all together. Overall I couldn’t be more tickled with how this mini quilt finished.
I will be linking up with the Bokeh Quilt Along Final Linkup; although I won’t be eligible for any of the prizes, it will be fun to see it with all the other finishes!
