In late April I was contacted by Quilt Mania to see if I would help support their solidarity project. In their own words,
During these difficult times, health care providers around the world are risking their lives, and the lives of their loved ones, working over-time in this battle against the coronavirus. We would like to mobilize the international quilting community to participate in a solidarity project as a token of thanks for their hard work and dedication.
They asked that I create a 10″ finished block using primarily red and pink fabrics, and send them both the instructions for the block and the pieced block. The submitted blocks will be made into quilts that they will donate to hospitals.
I designed the Heart in a Heart block, which is a foundation paper pieced block. Visit the Quilt Mania blog to see all the Solidarity Quilt Blocks and/or to download my Heart in a Heart block instructions and templates.
To date, over 90 designers have agreed to participate and over 1,000 quilters have signed up as well. If you would like to participate, all the information about the Solidarity Quilt Block project can be found on the Quilt Mania site.
Love your Heart in a Heart block for the Solidarity Quilt. I’ve been following these patterns and they are all so lovely.
Love your block Yvonne!
Terrific block for a great cause!
This is beautiful. It is also the first I have heard of this project – hopping over for more information.
