I originally shared about Dancing Diamonds at the end of March in 2016, and the mini size tutorial was available on the Sew Mama Sew website. Sew Mama Sew no longer exists, so the tutorial is no longer available online. After thinking it over, I decided to expand the pattern and release it as a full quilt pattern, which I am launching today.
Dancing Diamonds is the perfect introduction to making Half-Square Triangles (HSTs) for beginners. The pattern is written with slightly generous sizing to allow for trimming down to get the finished block just right, and the pattern also includes a note for advanced quilters on how to modify for less waste (Note: Be sure to read all the instructions prior to cutting!). The Dancing Diamonds quilt is pieced entirely from HSTs.
Choose from one of six sizes (mini, baby, lap, large lap, twin, and queen) and use the coloring sheet included in the pattern to color and plan your layout or find inspiration from some of the alternate colorways included.
The Dancing Diamonds quilt pattern will be on sale today through Memorial Day (Monday, May 25, 2020).
This looks like such a great pattern for beginners. It is always lovely to have more than one size too! Good luck with the pattern.
Yay for another ‘new’ pattern! Great for beginners to learn and get a really cool effect.
Congrats on the new pattern release!
Congrats on new pattern release!
One I’m sure beginners will certainly enjoy. Congrats!
Congrats on the new pattern. I had printed and save the tutorial but sadly never got around to making the mini.
