November Patron Mini Mini Quilts

I had 5 Patrons unlock the mini mini quilt reward in November. I typically aim to make mini mini quilts in the 4″ square size range, but they all vary a little bit. Over Thanksgiving, we had over 9 inches of snow at my house, which made a soft photo background for these fun tiny quilts.

I ask each patron if they have any preferences and do my best to incorporate any desires into the tiny makes. For instance, the mini mini on the lower left was inspired by aqua and “spots”. To create the spots, I used a white on white print for the backing and quilted with the backing fabric up and followed the pattern lines.

I played with the idea of flanged binding by adding small borders on the edge of several mini mini quilts and only allowing a sliver of the border to show beyond the edge of the binding.

I really like exploring new ideas in mini mini quilts. Have you given making one a try?

They are really cute – I love the creativity that goes into each one.

  7. You know, I don’t make many quilt projects smaller than a throw size, mainly because I have yet to figure out a good way to display them. (My house seems to have lots of windows and not enough wall space!) These mini minis are lovely, though. I’m sure your patrons will enjoy them!

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
