When the Quilt Theory collaboration ended, the rights to the patterns reverted back to the original designers. This summer, I decided to revisit the 3 patterns I released with the group and expand them (they were originally all only for lap size quilts). Today, I am releasing the 3 expanded patterns.
Tiled Parquet creates a strong geometric pattern with varying widths of foreground and background piecing. What speaks to me the most about the Tiled Parquet design is the X block pattern that is created… with a twist. The design creates a fun swirling pattern in the background, and with tonal fabric selection has a very 3D effect. Beyond being a fun visual design, the pattern also reminds me of a wooden parquet floor of a home from my youth.
Layered Diamonds is a layer cake (background blocks) and scrap (pieced blocks) friendly design. Layered Diamonds will help you beautifully showcase your favorite layer cake prints with very little waste and left over fabric!
For the cover lap sized quilt, I used a rainbow of bright colors. Pulsing Plus would look equally stunning as a scrap buster using up what you have in your scrap basket! Pulsing Plus explores the popular modern plus using a single block in a creative layout. The design of Pulsing Plus was inspired by thinking about the way a supportive community of people creates ripples of interaction and how in sync people can become.
All three patterns can be made in 5 sizes: baby, lap, large lap, twin, or queen. To celebrate the triple pattern release, the patterns are on sale and be sure to use the coupon code 2for20 for an additional 20% off any two patterns or 3for30 for an additional 30% off any three patterns. The sale and coupon codes are valid through Friday, November 15.
Stay tuned; pre-sales for the Push-Pull QAL open next week! Also note that beginning on Saturday, November 16, all my pattern prices will be increasing to $12.
Congrats on the release of your newest patterns.
I really like the Layered Diamonds quilt pattern. It seems like it would be a quick quilt to make though I’ve never made an on-point quilt before. I think it would look awesome with a scrappy dark background. Take care, Mary.
Love the Parquet! I grew up in a house with parquet floors too; they were beautiful. I appreciate them now, but didn’t back then. I thought we were too poor to afford wall-to-wall carpeting like so many other of my friends’ houses. Duh-h-h-h! My mother was smart – she didn’t have to lug out the vacuum every other day. Just a few swipes with a slightly damp mop and she was done! (That became my chore when I was older.)
All three patterns are lovely. Thanks for making them available to us.
How to fun to re-release these in more size options! Such pretty designs, Yvonne!
Great additions to your shop. My favorite is definitely the Layered Diamonds – the low volume mix you used as the background is wonderful. Also wise to add the various sizes to the patterns. 🙂
