Announcing the Push-Pull Quilt Along

I knew that when I got home, I was going to need a quilting goal to focus on. I had a lot of time to think about what that might look like, and I am excited to announce the upcoming Push-Pull Quilt Along is the result!

I refined the Push-Pull design in March based on Sylvia from Flying Parrot Quilts‘ book, Quilter’s Negative Space Handbook. Between being excited about the quilt design itself, I have packed my color theory and transparency fabric selection knowledge into the pattern. The pattern contains instructions for making a baby quilt (44″ x 48″), a lap quilt (66″ x 72″), or a queen size quilt (98″ x 108″). Most of the pattern instructions* are in black and white and appear in both a light to dark colorway side by side with a dark to light colorway to make it as easy to use as possible.

*Note that the color theory discussion requires that the first few pages contain a few images with color. Speaking of color, I’d love to get an idea of what color you would most like to make the Push-Pull quilt in. Just submit your top choice in the form below!

There will be two linkups during the quilt along and with the help of the wonderful sponsors below, there will be lots of fun prizes available along the way.

Push-Pull Quilt Along Sponsors

Flying Parrot Quilts | C&T Publishing | Backside Fabrics | Aurifil | Needle & Foot Fine Fabrics

Make Modern Magazine

Hobbs Batting | OLFA | Fat Quarter Shop | Meadow Mist Designs | Quilting Jetgirl

To participate, I will be asking quilters to purchase the Push-Pull pattern, which I will release in sections as the quilt along progresses, and all Quilting Jetgirl Patrons will be included in the quilt along for free as the yearly quilt pattern reward.

The beginning of the quilt along schedule is very relaxed to account for the upcoming holidays. In 2020, the quilt along will settle into a 3-week pace with a full month and a half for the final finishing and any catch up. I hope that you will sew along with me; Northcott Fabrics has generously supplied me with ColorWorks Premium Solids in luscious purples in Iris, Heather, and Lilac Mist to make a version of the quilt, and I can’t wait to see it come together!

I’m in and voting for green, as it’s his color and after 6 years I need a new quilt for the bed! One that can be interchanged with the Turning 20 that’s on the bed and has been for the last 6 years. His vote was for green when I asked him for suggestions on colors. If I see something else that catches my eye while looking over the colors I might try to make 2 you never know! I like this pattern Thank you Yvonne, I’m so glad I asked about a QAL when I saw you in VT.
