Log Cabin Filler Blocks for Design Group Quilt

After sending off my first set of blocks for the Design Group quilt and seeing how all the blocks made related to one another, I made a few smaller blocks to use a potential filler blocks as the quilt top is assembled.

I made sure to use each of the 8 colors this time, and my personal touch was to make them fade from light to dark / dark to light / one color into the next. Each block will finish at 5″ x 8″.

Most of the design group is getting together today to start putting the quilt top together. I’m excited to see how it evolves!

As always, context is everything. Can hardly wait to see how it all fits together. And of course, I see bricks and think: they are back in civiization! (but you could have taken this before). Hope the trip is going well.

These blocks are really interesting. The HST will add so many new patterns to the quilt top. Looking forward to seeing it!

These may just be fillers, but I like them a lot and would rather like to see a quilt that used them as a starting point.
