Quilt Pattern

Precession Pattern Release

When designers contract with magazines, part of the contractual agreement has to do with the rights to the pattern. I prefer to allow the magazine to have exclusive rights to the pattern for a period of time and to have them revert back to me so that I can release the pattern on my own as well. Today, I’m excited to release the Precession digital quilt pattern, which was first published in Issue 68 of Love, Patchwork & Quilting.

The 54″ x 72″ quilt shown on the cover is the pattern that was released in Love, Patchwork & Quilting, which I call Precession Thirds. The pattern also includes instructions for making 2 coordinating pillow covers (with envelope backings) for 18″ pillow forms.

I like to include extra options in my patterns (additional sizes), and in the Precession pattern I have included a second quilt option, the 72″ square Tumbling Precession quilt and coordinating pillows.

The pattern also includes a coloring page where you can try out your own fabric and color options.

Many thanks to Cheryl from Meadow Mist Designs for her technical editing help in making sure this dual pattern is ready.

This is SO pretty! I like the design and all the color combinations you’ve presented but I’m especially fond of the pink/rose variation. I love pinks, but used without discernment, pink can evoke a “Pepto-Bismol-gag” effect. However, the understated way you’ve blended them is eye-catching and delightful.

I’m going to buy this one as well, but I just can’t today. If I bring one of your patterns I already have will you autograph it when I see you on Friday?

I really like this design , especially the first one with the off centre panel and all that negative space for quilting, such a shame my FMQ isn’t up to the challenge:-). I love that you included the pillows too, I do like a matching pillow and this design is great as a stand-alone pillow too. Great pattern Yvonne.

  13. Congratulations on the pattern release, Yvonne! It’s a beautiful design 🙂

Very pretty pattern. I love the pillows as much as the quilt.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
