I look forward to getting to use sparklers every 4th of July, and it is such a quintessential part of summer that it was the inspiration for my 2019 Summer Sampler block design. The Sparkler block will introduce transparency topics, especially for moving around the colorwheel and not just working monochromatically. Piece one block for the Summer Sampler quilt and then make 4 more to make a fun mini quilt!

I nailed it!….but not until one other person claimed their block. I love the four blocks put together here, just beautiful. I am also so excited that you and your husband are off on your adventure…..thinking good thoughts about you here. I’ve got my fabric. I went with a package from Mad About Patchwork. I’m excited to get my first block instructions tomorrow and it’s a long weekend here so I should get lots of sewing done.
Yvonne, I honestly was NOT going to sign up for the Summer Sampler this year until I read this post about the quilt block that you designed. I love it, and I want to make a mini quilt using this block. I’m probably not going to make all the blocks in this sampler. Besides yours, I’ll probably make Jen Carlton Bailly’s since I’m working on my fear of curves. And maybe a couple others that might make a nice pillow or another mini. I’ll be excited when it’s your week for Summer Sampler 2019! Take care, Mary.
