Last week, Aurifil announced their 2019 Aurifil Artisans, and I am thrilled that they are welcoming me back for another (third!) year. With over 250 applications this year, I don’t envy the hard work they had to do to select the Artisans this year. It’s an amazingly talented bunch, and it is an honor to be a part of the group. You know that my machines and I love Aurifil, and I am grateful for their amazing support of the quilting community. It’s a great match!

So what does being an Artisan mean? Well, it means that I am going to use their thread and talk about it. Since that’s what I would do anyway, you won’t really notice a change at all. There are no affiliate links that go along with it, just my honest feedback and opinion that I really enjoy Aurifil thread and the Aurifil company and staff.
Another reason that I am thrilled to partner with Aurifil is their commitment to sustainability. They have partnered with The Plastic Bank, a social enterprise headquartered in Canada which aims to clean up plastic waste from our oceans while providing valuable opportunities for people living in poverty. With The Plastic Bank, Aurifil has taken steps to be plastic neutral in 2019. You can read more about Aurifil’s efforts to Make an Impact on their AURIbuzz blog.
Thanks for sharing this interesting fact about Aurifil threads. I am happy to find out through the comments that they are also working to use a different substance for their spools, but this is a good first step and supporting efforts to get rid of the plastic we already have floating around the world is also massively important.
Congrats Yvonne!
Yvonne, congrats! And thank you for introducing me to all the Artisans.
Congrats to you! I’m glad you were selected again!
Congratulations, Yvonne! It is well deserved and I look forward to watching you and the others weave your Aurifil magic.
Woohoo! I hope they will drop-ship to you on the road. 🙂
Congratulations.
Yay for you! I was thinking about applying, but didn’t really know what kind of commitment there was. Guess I should have asked!
Congratulations Yvonne on being an artisan again this year . I do love aurifil threads and would use them more, except I have to buy them mail order and the postage all adds to the cost. They are the best quilting threads around though.
Congrats on being part of the team this year!
