Splendid Sampler II – Sparkling Star

Whew, I’ve been home from QuiltCon for a day and I’m starting to get my bearings again. Well, only partially.

Sparkling Star - Splendid Sampler II Block

Sparkling Star – Splendid Sampler II Block

Somehow I used the template for the Sparkling Star block by Linda Nitzen backwards so my star is a bit different than the one in the book. But it’s done and sparkling with planets in the background.

Be sure to visit The Splendid Sampler website to see the other blocks revealed today. And if you are sewing along, don’t forget to link up (on The Splendid Sampler site) your pieced version of any of the 4 blocks from today’s reveal to be entered to win a prize.

It’s sparkling, no matter which way it’s turned! Glad you are feeling human-like again.

  2. Oh I LOVE this block Yvonne! Look for my next week TBT post, as there are very similar stars in that old quilt. 🙂

  3. If it is different, it doesn’t look like a mistake, so it must have been a deliberate design choice.:)

I don’t know what it’s supposed to look like, but I like this.

  5. It’s still shinning brightly! Thanks for all your work at QuiltCon and helping it run smoothly! I saw you running around with walkie talkie in hand!

  6. Jasmine @ Quilt Kisses says:

Your picture is as pretty as the block itself. I loved seeing your new block.

Backwards or not it looks perfect to me.

  8. Looks perfect to me! It is funny how that happens, and I do love when I can let it go. Seems to depend whether or not it changes things; in this sampler I don’t think anyone would ever know.
