2019: Planning to Stay Connected

Every year I like to set goals for myself and for my brand, Quilting Jetgirl. The challenge with big goals is that sometimes they require financing. This is where Patreon comes in. By signing up as a Quilting Jetgirl Patron, your support will help me stay connected to you!

Stay Connected?
Life is going to get interesting for me in 2019! At the beginning of the year, I will be working to complete obligations and dramatically downsize my life and business. In early May, my husband and I hope to be ready to begin living full time in our home-built expedition vehicle, Wabi-Sabi Overland. We plan to explore through Western Canada and Alaska over the summer, returning to our home base in Central California in September/October to re-group and plan what comes next.

What does that mean for Quilting Jetgirl? Well, I need to invest in mobile technology to stay as connected as possible while we are traveling. I will be using my Patreon funds from 2019 to support the monthly fee of a mobile wifi hotspot.

What I will be offering in return.
You can choose the level of support that you are most comfortable with. In return there are bonuses for each level of support.

Why sign up now?
If you sign up now, your first payment will process in time to receive my next exclusively designed Patreon quilt pattern. I have it drafted and ready to start sewing as a test, so I think you know what I’ll be working on behind the scenes for the next few weeks!

Thank you for all your support in any way that you choose to join me: by following my blog, Instagram, or email newsletter, by purchasing patterns, leaving comments, and sending emails. It means a lot to me, and I look forward to figuring out how to stay connected as life evolves this year!

  1. What an exciting time for you! Fabulous to be able to explore and travel while you are young.

  2. Lisa J. says:

Hi Yvonne: I’m looking forward to staying connected with you in the next year.

  3. I went over and looked at the Wabi Sabi Overland posts. Very interesting and so exciting for you. Adventures are what life should be about. When I was about your age, we taught in Canada’s Arctic, lived with the Inuit…an adventure of a lifetime. We loved it! Good luck, be safe and get the most out of it all as you can. Jetgirl will work out.

You are asking us to pay to receive your posts while you travel? I don’t think so. You can delete me if I have to pay for it.

    1. You absolutely do not have to pay for anything, Patty. If you find value in my posts, please continue to read and enjoy and I would love and appreciate comments to know what inspires you along the way.

      Kind regards,
      Yvonne

  5. It sounds like 2019 is going to be so exciting for you Yvonne – it will be great to see where you go and what you get up to and what it inspires you to create.

  6. This is going to be quite the effort isn’t it! I assume your longarm won’t be on the Wabi Sabi will it? I hope it has a home you can visit…. Will you sell your house? It is a little too adventurous for my taste, but it sounds like quite the adventure! I wish you all the best and look forward to following your quilting journey and physical journey!

  7. What an exciting adventure, you will be in awe of all the beauty you will see. We moved to Alaska from the Midwest in 2004 & drove all the way. Even though we didn’t rush & did it in 9 days we’d love to do it again.
Since living here we camp almost every weekend & for all newbies I highly recommend the book “Travelers guide to Alaska Camping by Mike Church” it even covers parts of Canada. And there is also an iPhone app called “Wikicamps” that shows campgrounds but also scenic view points, gas stations, dump stations, pull offs & since its all info is from users there’s info on non campgrounds (gravel pits river rock bars etc.)
As far a connectivity you probably won’t have too many issues, we have found that our family from the lower 48 have better cell service than we do. At times they have it & we have nothing. The Denali highway is a good example my MIL always had service, but we didn’t.
Sorry to ramble on, but when I hear someone is going to be camping in our beautiful state I just love sharing what we have learned over the years

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
