Visit The Splendid Sampler today to get a bonus block from Pat Sloan. With the holidays here, we are getting a break and I chose to go back and sew one of Pat’s blocks revealed a few weeks ago that I didn’t have time to put together, For Madge.

For Madge – Splendid Sampler II Block
I chose to leave off the applique elements in the corners of the block. My sewing time is short these days, and this block was a nice quick sew that should coordinate nicely with my grouping.
Are you able to do any sewing during the holidays? If so, what are you working on?
I think it is fab the way it is and the orange did work out. I have sometime until Sunday, then not again till Wednesday. Looking forward to family and then I will look forward to sewing again.
Hello Yvonne, Your block is great! From the links for your getting ready, the two of you are accomplishing so much. I just pulled out a small tote filled with Christmas projects, like stockings and small quilt projects, that I had planned to make and just never did. So that is what I am going to be working on. Thank you for sharing and have a great day!
Dear Yvonne,
That’s a delightful block! The outer-space vibe is very cute. I’m not a fan of blues and oranges or golds together, but your block with its grayish-blue contrast color makes it work beautifully.
I guess we’re all short on quilting time during the holidays, but I’m managing to squeeze in a wall-hanging for my daughter, one for my sister-in-law and a couple of half-completed baby quilts. I must be out of my mind.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
I really like the way you stitched this one together instead of doing the old standard, as shown on her blog (not that it isn’t Cute, or anything, but I just like this one better). Sometimes leaving something off is the way to go, and I like the clean look of this. I assume this is the final block? Then, congrats!
I like your version, with the center surrounded by that lovely blue.
Wrapped up my sewing yesterday, as now it’s time to enjoy family while I can. Happy Holidays to you and yours!
