Splendid Sampler II

Splendid Sampler II – Antique Memories, First Aid, and Piece in Chaos

After the Thanksgiving break and 2 bonus blocks, the Splendid Sampler 2 is back with 4 blocks from the book revealed today. And I chose to piece 3 of them!

Antique Memories is by none other than Pat Sloan. I carefully planned to get some of my fun prints to shine.

First Aid - Splendid Sampler II Block

First Aid is by Jane Davidson (Quilt Jane), and I opted to let the shape of the block do more of the talking than my prints for this one.

And Piece in Chaos is by Betsy Chutchian, which seemed like another great opportunity to fussy cut!

It’s fun to add so many blocks in one week. Be sure to visit The Splendid Sampler website for the fourth block revealed today.

  1. I love your blocks! Also, those fabrics are fantastic.

I really love the way your fabric works in these blocks. The fussy cut blocks show off the prints so well. The First Aid block reminds me of some of the different themed bandaids available these days. Sent my college aged granddaughter a package with different emojis. I look forward to seeing the rest of your blocks.

  3. Tish says:

I love the prints you are using in the blocks! Fun and modern. Are those little space kitties or birds in the first block?

Hello Yvonne, Each one of your blocks are wonderful! Fussy cutting for the effects was a great idea and the way that you use your fabrics to bring personality to each block has turned each block into a fabulous block. Thank you for sharing! Have a splendid day!

Perfect blocks to highlight this week’s Mars landing by InSight–truly a memorable few minutes. I love that you are doing space fabrics, given your connection to that world. Fun blocks!

  9. Janet Sabol says:

Your first block looks great with the fussy cut from the fabrics! Pat Sloan is doing a BOM starting in January called Out of This World. I was wondering what fabrics you were using for your Space theme blocks. She’s got a kit from Fat Quarter shop and it’s Capsules Stargazer fabric. Thanks for your response!
