Sue O’very (Sue O’very Designs) is the designer for the November Aurifil block, The Fort. As I am down to wanting to use only orange or purple with my blocks for the year, I spent a lot of time wavering back and forth on my fabric selection.
In the end I decided to go with purple because Sue has been sewing her blocks with pink this year and the purple seemed closer to her hot pinks than an orange would.
I’m hoping that orange is going to look good in December’s block. We’ll find out in a few more weeks!
Seeing all these blocks together makes me realise that time really is flying by this year. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you when December comes around, but all your black and white fabrics seem to be pulling things together very nicely.
A lovely visual pleasure of blocks. Hope Decembers block works for your orange.
You definitely NEED some orange!!! LOL
They look great all grouped together! Fingers crossed orange works out for the December block 😉
I love that purple fabric you chose! It looks great in the block. I have a feeling you will make the December block rock the orange. I’m dying to see the final layout.
What is the name of the block in the middle that looks like a guy in a casket? Sorry, that is what it looks like to me. So here is a flower for the funeral.
I believe you are referring to the Tonga Block. All the Aurifil DOM blocks can be found on the Auribuzz website here: https://auribuzz.wordpress.com/category/designers-of-the-month/
These look awesome together!
They are looking great together! Just a few more days until you know whether your December color choice will work. I don’t see why it wouldn’t….
Yvonne, all of you blocks together look wonderful!
