Welcome to the first week of sewing from the Splendid Sampler 2 book! The free sew along is over, where 20 of the blocks from the Splendid Sampler 2 were shared for free. Beginning today, the pace is really going to increase. Each week from The Splendid Sampler blog you will be able to:
- Tour the four design team websites to meet them and see which block they have designed.
- Each designer has something special to share, it might be a tip, a bonus layout, a tutorial or maybe a giveaway.
- And each week enter at least one of the 4 blocks you made. On the following Thursday, the random number generator will select a winner.
This week, I chose to sew the block Curves Forever, by sisters Jenny Pedigo and Helen Robinson from Sew Kind of Wonderful.
Be sure to visit The Splendid Sampler website to see the other blocks shared today and be sure to sew along to enter the weekly giveaway!
This block is really striking! I’m fascinated by it. I like the fabrics you chose too. I would be curious to see what this block looks like in an entire quilt. Why do I fear curves so much? 🙁
What a great block! Your colors rock. You had me at curves. I’ve enjoyed seeing your blocks as you’ve made them.
The curves and the fabric are so striking in this design. I love the consistency of the white and the movement of the prints.
Wow! Love this one, great job.
Hello Yvonne, This is a fantastic block! It is so unique and looks challenging. I like the way you chose to use your fabrics. Thank you for sharing and have a great day!
Wow!! Your fabric/color selections really make that block come alive! Love it!!
Ooooh boy! That looks tricky! These are 6 inch blocks aren’t they? Lovely work!
Very nice, I am working on Estelle at the moment, so many pieces but I am loving it.
Love your block!
This block is SO good! I love the movement!
I love this block! The best of both worlds of curves and color!
Very cool block; I wonder if it would look like barbed wire when multiple blocks are arranges together?
love these Yvonne, and you are really encouraging me to use my CF fabrics
