As I mentioned in my See Right Through Me post, Cheryl Brickey from Meadow Mist Designs helped review my tutorial for the Diffraction Block and even created a test block. Today, I have the pleasure of sharing the block and baby quilt Cheryl created, and I think it will really inspire you.
Diffraction Block by Cheryl Brickey
Cheryl used a print for the background of her test block, and I love the way the pattern is maintained through the piecing. Also, her use of a monochromatic value shift in the rays within the block is stunning and presents lots of additional options to consider!
Diffraction Block Baby Quilt by Cheryl Brickey
Cheryl used the Diffraction Block as the inspiration to create this awesome 36 1/2″ square baby quilt. I love the quilting; especially the wishbone quilting that she used in the colored border.

The square within a square really makes me think of a sundial . Then my non scientific brain registered , diffraction is to do with sunlight .
I too thought about the same thing, a sundial!

Stunning. Very crisp look. It is always fun to see a pattern made in different color ways as the difference in over all look is usually significant.
