Today, the Splendid Sampler II Sew Along block design is by Carl Hentsch (from 3 Dog Design Company), and the block is called Betty’s Bloom. You can find the pattern and details about the inspiration behind block today on The Splendid Sampler website.
As I have mentioned before, I am not sewing up every block during the free quilt along event or from the book, but as my collection is growing, I have found that I am thinking about making more.
I am also learning a lot about 6-inch finished blocks. They are much smaller than what I normally work with… well aside from the mini mini quilts that I piece.

6″ blocks are small. The 8″ one I did had finished 1″ squares so I feel your pain. They are looking fab!
Each block is cute. But together, Yvonne, they make quite an impact!
I love your block!!! It’s perfect for your style.
Hello Yvonne, Your newest block has the most perfect points! Plus, the fabric choices absolutely make this block marvelous! Your quilt is going to be so spectacular, I look forward to seeing it. Have a great day!
This block is awesome!
Tell me about the 6” blocks…though they are tons of fun. 150 last year and there’ll be 200 this year when all’s said and done! Interesting I’m working on the September challenge and making Cindy‘s latest quilt which has a section extremely similar to this! Love as always the colours you’ve put together.
That is a great block!
You’ve got a great set of blocks from the quilt along. That last one looks very tricky, but it certainly turned out beautifully!
Love the new block! All your blocks look stunning together.
That is a dynamic block! All of them together with your colorway is smashing!
This is really a striking block! And your collection is looking pretty darn good!
Your blocks look really good. That collage is impressive.
I love this block! How can I get the pattern for just it?
