Hawthorne Supply Co Order
Fabric, Splendid Sampler II

Stash Acquisitions

I’m glad I thought about going ahead and getting some more fabric for my Splendid Sampler 2 blocks, because when I went to order more fabric last week, it was harder to find yardage than I had anticipated. In the end I was able to find the pieces I was looking for along with a few other prints to help keep me making blocks throughout the sew along.

The first order I placed was with Hawthorne Supply Co. In addition to having some of the Supernova by Rae Ritchie line, I picked up a few more coordinating prints.

Light Blues

From bottom left clockwise: Green Wall in Blue Jay (Carolyn Friedlander), Cats in Space in Arctic (Rae Ritchie), and Planetarium in Cosmic (Art Gallery Fabrics Studio).

To be honest, I’m not entirely sure of the 2 colors of  Carolyn Friedlander Crosshatch print I ordered. I know one is Crosshatch in Caramel (it’s on sale!), and I think the other is Crosshatch in Parchment. The glasses are Spectacles in Solar by Rae Ritchie.

Navys

Left to right: Night Sky in Navy, Chalkboard in Navy, and Supernova in Navy all from Rae Ritchie’s Supernova line.

To round things out, I also placed an order from Stash Fabrics to get a few more prints; clearly I needed more of the Cats in Space! Left to right: Shirting in Yarrow (Carolyn Friedlander) and Cats in Space in Navy (Rae Ritchie).

Stash Fabrics Order - Solids

Stash Fabrics Order – Solids

And because Stash Fabrics has all the Kona Cotton colors, I couldn’t help but pick up a few solids to add to my stash, although I do have a project in mind for these two that I am excited to work on soon as well! Kona in White and Kona in Nightfall.

I also made a fabric order to make a baby quilt for friends. I’m excited about the design idea and will share more when the fabrics arrive soon. I clearly like to purchase fabric when I have a project in mind. How about you; what have you been purchasing lately?

I have been trying very hard to use what I have. I did buy a few yards of different fabrics to finish up one project but my stash is so big that I’m really trying to be good. It is so hard to pass up all the beautiful fabric, I feel like an addict in rehab!

Those space cats are just too cute and are perfect for you!

What fun fabrics, Yvonne! Glad you found what you needed and even a few more. They are so “you”!

Hello Yvonne; I hope that you had fun choosing all of your fabrics. I especially like the Cats in Space, Spectacles in Solar and Supernova in Navy. I also think that it is fabulous that you shop in a variety of fabric stores online, not just one. I mainly do my fabric shopping right here in town. Yet, I always go through my stash of fabrics first and see if I can find a combination to my liking or the person who the quilt is being made for. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!

You have such awesome vision and pick out the best fabrics.

  7. Wonderful stash additions and so glad you found the ones you were looking for. Having worked in a quilt shop, I know the frustrations of not finding the piece you really want. I think you are going to have a lot of fun with this stash!

I actually went shopping online tonight too, needing just a bit more to get thru the Summer Sampler. My normal shops didn’t have an older print I wanted but thankfully a vendor on Etsy did!

  9. What awesome fabrics!!!!

So funny to see this today, as my yardage of some of Rae Ritchie’s line arrived yesterday too! I ordered the Supernova, from i love fabric. I also picked up some linen to make a Bento Bag, as my friend Susan of Patchwork n Play showed one on her blog, and I want to try it. Fun to see all your acquisitions, and I so love your use of Cats in Space.

Clearly you needed more Cats in Space. It’s awesome.

Agreed you had to have more Cats In Space, that print is GREAT! Now I want some 🙂

  13. That Cats in Space print is so fun! Your other choices are beautiful, too. I pretty much always buy fabric with a project in mind. I find I’m not really a shopper by nature (clothes, shoes or fabric), so I don’t really buy just for the sake of accumulating.

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
