Another week and another Splendid Sampler 2 block! This week the block was designed by Amy Friend from During Quiet Time, and her block is Flowering Tree.

Well, with my color palette, I’m thinking my block has more of a fall tree vibe than a flowering tree, but I love how it came together regardless!
Splendid Sampler II – Four Blocks
I am having a lot of fun sewing up these 6 inch finished blocks. I might need to order more of the fun Supernova fabrics; I started with mostly fat quarter cuts of many of my prints for the fabric pull. Since I don’t plan on sewing all the blocks, I’m not sure of the yardage I’ll need.
I love this block so much, it will push me to make it even though I’m not a fan of paper piecing. Love that math fabric that you are using. Are the formulas correct? It’s always hard to tell when you can’t see everything correctly. My scientists would be offended if things were wrong. Your blocks and palette are looking great together.
I do love the way this is turning out and every time I see them, I think I should be doing it. I hope you can get more fabric – they look super together!

This is so cool! I love that supernova fabric, it makes me want to buy some! I love how you have staged the photos with your block between the 9″ and 17″ and the thread and rotary cutter in the same spot! Looks awesome!
I really like this block, those branches must be super skinny with the block only being 6″ square. You color scheme works really well with this design.
