Giveaway Friday

I stalled out on doing Giveaway Friday at the end of May due to an increase in behind-the-scenes work that was needed to host the Tips and Tutorials Festival and the #2018MidYearReview. Now that those events are over, I am happy to pick back up where I left off.

Sealing Interior Habitat Joints Using Korapop 225

As my husband and I continue to work on Wabi-Sabi Overland, I occasionally have moments where I see myself in a different light. Maybe this will happen more to me with quilting as I begin to teach and see people in person more frequently, but right now most of my days are spent alone doing online work or quilting. Having my husband work with me in the evening and getting a glimpse of myself from his perspective, like in the photo above, is an interesting dynamic. For instance, I don’t think anything of all the beaded bracelets, hair bands, and other assorted bracelets that I wear on my wrists. Looking at the photo above, I really notice them, though. Each item has significance and meaning to me. My husband jokes that one day a strand is going to break and we’ll be picking up thousands of tiny beads. I tend to think that if/when that happens I might just replace them with tattoos(!!??).

Today I am giving away (1) Love Patchwork & Quilting Issue 45, (1) Love Patchwork & Quilting Issue 50, and (1) Love Patchwork & Quilting Issue 53. I will ship to any US address, but if you are an international follower, I don’t want to leave you out. So if someone internationally wins, they will get their selection of 1 PDF pattern from my shop.

To enter, use the Rafflecopter widget below. The giveaway is open until Sunday, July 22nd, at 9pm Eastern. By entering, you acknowledge that you are 18 years of age or older. Winners will be randomly selected and emailed. To claim your prize, you will have 48 hours to reply via email or a new winner will be selected. Good luck!

Sometimes I change my earrings, most of the time I wear the same ones.

  2. Kathy says:

I don’t wear much jewelry except earrings, and I have a LOT of those!

  3. Jana says:

I have two pieces that I interchange, a gold cross necklace and a thin silver chain with a dove and branch. One is from my husband, the other from my best friend. Both hold a special place in my heart.

After a career filled with lab work (with strong acids, strong bases, and hydrocarbons), I’ve gotten out of the habit of wearing rings or bracelets for fear of ruining them. But I do like fun earrings (birds, butterflies, constellations, US flag, etc), it keeps people guessing as to what I’m going to wear next.

  5. My bracelets are usually silver (very work appropriate), but earrings are addictive fun.

  6. I wear my Hello Kitty watch in memory of my youngest daughter and to form a connect with my young patients! I like to wear rings but find that most of them cause irritation because I wash my hands so much. So I’m wearing a small claddagh ring I bought years ago, because of my heritage and love of those rings! Love your bracelets, they have memories and meaning past their individual beauties.

  7. Susan MacLeod says:

I don’t wear much jewelry anymore, sometime earrings and my hand beaded bracelets.

  8. Amy L says:

I used to wear a necklace with a ring and cross on it, and my engagement ring. I took them off for a water aerobics class, and the container they were in got lost at my mom’s house. She has dementia, so I’m hoping that the container surfaces one of these days. Since then, I wear a watch. That’s it.

I have some pieces of jewelry that I really love but I do not wear jewelry everyday other than earrings.

I have an I LOVE YOU bracelet from my husband that I adore.

  11. Rita Long says:

I always wear my wedding rings. 47 years

  12. Emily C says:

Actually, the jewelry i’m most emotionally attached to, I don’t wear. I have a rose gold necklace, it was the last thing my mother gave me. I tend to touch my necklaces and play with them alot and memories of her make me emotional, so it stays in it’s box at home. I have/had bracelets, first gift from my husband. Wore them so much I need to restring them. If i can find all the pieces.
Other items, though…I have dragon earrings from last years renaissance festival. that day was great fun. I wear them on the weekends (they are awful for phone calls).
(so the short answer is, “it depends on the memories”)

  13. Ola Norman says:

    I just wear earrings.

  14. Anja @ Anja Quilts says:

Kudos on your continued purging. I wear the same gold earrings every day. They don’t have any special meaning, other than I haven’t been able to find another pair that I really like. LOL

  15. Janet Sabol says:

I almost always wear a magnetic silver necklace that not only helps with reducing tight muscles in my neck but also has significance because my husband bought me the most recent one as a surprise.

  16. Sarah Goer says:

I’m not sure how much meaning they have to me, but I generally wear one of a few pairs of large silver earrings. I think I like that they dress up even a casual outfit. 😉

  17. Kirstin says:

I have a favorite bracelet that I love to wear. My sister is a silversmith and several years ago created a sterling bracelet that is made out of individually carved Venus De Milo Goddess charms! I love it and people either comment or just stare. Perfect size and perfect weight, made with love!

  18. Laura S says:

I can’t stand the feel of any jewelry on me so I don’t wear any, not even my wedding ring. I have a couple of sentimental pieces that belonged to my sister and I keep them in a pretty dish on my dresser.

  19. Shasta says:

I hardly wear jewelry, although I do like it and have some. I just don’t think about putting it on!

  20. Linda Clark says:

I had quite a few necklaces I have turned into charm necklaces and bracelets (too hard to pick 1 to wear “this time”. Most of the charms are pieces from grandmother, aunt, mother, daddy’s wedding band, etc. My favorite necklace that is never changed is the combo cross my mother got from my dad and a star of David with a cross in the middle – a gift from a Bible Study friend who visited the Holy Land for the 5th time. It represents “I am Christian because of a Jewish man”. I love wearing my charms!!!

  21. I love how being with different people allows and shows different aspects of ourselves. And totally go for tattoos. I like tattoos that are well planned out and have significance; I have no doubt yours would be both those. It hurts like you wouldn’t believe but you forget quickly. (I’m psyching myself up for some more soon!)

I really appreciate the time and thought you take to comment, and I look forward to conversing with you. :)
