Flags for Sue

On Wednesday, Alycia shared that her Quilts of Valor group is collecting flag blocks to honor Sue, a QOV member who recently passed away. The tribute that Alycia wrote about Sue is moving, and I wanted to get up and start sewing before I finished reading the post.

While I had a few other things I needed to accomplish first, I made time yesterday afternoon and was able to quickly piece 3 blocks to send.

The blue fabric has shiny gold stars (swoon!), and I almost used up all of the red fabric I selected for the stripes.

If you are so moved, Alycia is accepting blocks until September 1st, and you can get all the details on how to contribute and where to find the flag block tutorial by visiting Alycia’s Flags for Sue post. I’ll be getting these 3 blocks in the mail to Alycia today.

Great idea–maybe I can crank out a couple today. Thanks for letting us know. Yours are just perfect, especially with those stars. As I’m typing this, your logo for your Jetgirl Etsy Store is right beside this box, and *you* are among the sparkly stars!
